"Saturday Night Is Confirmed" Reveals Emily

emily eavisEmily Eavis has spoken to the official Glastonbury website and has commented on some of the news that has been hitting the headlines over recent weeks.

When asked about the headlining acts she commented "Well, Saturday night is confirmed. And for Sunday night, we're looking at three main options right now. That's all being sorted out at the moment."

(Current voting here predicts that the Rolling Stones will be confirmed next. You can vote in the sidebar on the right.)

She also commented on the World cup explaining that, "The(England)game on the Wednesday night will definitely be showing on the Pyramid Stage screens. The other game, which it looks like they'll be playing on the Saturday or Sunday, obviously won't be on the Pyramid. But it will be shown on site somewhere, we're just not quite sure where yet."

Kasabian Dumb Down Glastonbury Hopes

Alt Rockers Kasabian have dumbed down the idea of them headlining Glastonbury festival 2010.

Speaking recently to 6music, frontman Tom Meighan announced their plans for the summer and revealed his thoughts on Glastonbury.

“If Michael Eavis calls, you come. If you don’t, you don’t but I can see him getting really massive established bands like the Stones.

“It’s the 40th Anniversary. I don’t think he’d pick us anyway to headline it. He’s gonna pick established bands that have been around over 30 or 40 years.”

Interestingly modest, but I think that there is still a chance they could perform despite them not headlining.

Glastonbury Dismiss Fleetwood Mac Rumour

Glastonbury festival organisers have dismissed claims that Fleetwood Mac will headline the 2010 festival, deeming it 'unlikely' to happen.

Rumours of the band headlining (absolutely no pun intended there) the festival were started on gossip website Holy Moly.

"Fleetwood Mac have been booked to headline Sunday Night at next year's 40th Glastonbury festival," stated the website.

However an anonymous Glastonbury festival representative has since told popular music magazine NME, that this is unlikely to happen.

They didn't comment on whether or not the band would be there as a none headlining act.
