Glastonbury have officially announced the Early Bird winner of the annual Emerging Talent Competition.Sifting through 600 entries, the judges selected East Londoners My Luminaries as the first ever ETC Early Bird winner. They obviously skipped over my band...!
"The five-piece have a penchant for melodramatic keyboards, chunky guitars and driving rhythms and have been hailed by Radio 1’s Edith Bowman, Huw Stephens and 6 Music’s Tom Robinson in recent times," states the official Glastonbury website.
You can check out the their music on myspace here: www.myspace.com/myluminaries.
You can still enter the ETC and win a slot on a main stage at Glastonbury. However there are now only two weeks left to enter.
To enter, bands cannot be signed to a major label and have to be based in the UK or Ireland. Acts should upload two of their tracks to qthemusic.com/glastonburyemergingtalent, which is open until 25th January 2010.
Each entry costs £11.95, which helps cover the costs of the competition and the event finals. Twelve acts will be selected for the live finals which will be held at the end of March 2010.
