Glastonbury Submits News Licence

Glastonbury festival organisers have submitted a new licence that will see the festival continue until at least 2016.

The licence that they currently hold only covers the festival for this year, but if the new proposals are successful (and I see no reason why they won't be!) Glastonbury will be around until 2016, taking place again in 2011 and then taking a rest year in 2012.

The application to Mendip District Council also proposes many other changes to the festival. The festival will propose, "Early arrivals to be able to park up from 9.00pm on the Tuesday and Campervan and caravan areas to be open from noon on Tuesday."

It also states that "All vehicles must be off the site by 5.00pm on the Monday, with an extra car parking for 5,400 cars also made available."

There will also be many other changes proposed. Glastonbury are seeking permission to alter running times of the main stages, change access routes and expand camping areas.
